Compendium

Mythic crystals

Deep in the rock of Planis Dracoria grow crystals that are more than beautiful stones. The Guild of Dragon Healers calls them mythic: they carry a remnant of ancient magic and float in the light when you free them from the rock. They can only be recovered by hand, and every site gives up its crystal exactly once. Anyone who wants to reinforce their equipment or achieve great things at the forge cannot do without them.

Alexandrite

The most valuable crystal

Alexandrite – the catalyst

Alexandrite is the most important and most valuable crystal in Planis Dracoria. It acts as a catalyst: on its own it merely glows, but at the forge it unleashes the power of every other ingredient. Only through it do ores, wood, crystals and thalers combine into stronger weapons and better equipment. Without alexandrite, every blade stays what it is.

It is far rarer than any other mythic crystal and especially valuable – and it changes colour with the light: green by day, red by candlelight. You find it by hand, and you receive it as a daily reward and for weekly tasks.
