A stone altar raised by Gorevath’s followers

Chapter 1

Planis Dracoria

To tear the existing world order off its hinges and pursue unfathomable aims, Gorevath unleashed a devastating meteor shower aeons beyond reckoning ago. The falling rock shattered the Dragon Mother; her splintered essence seeped deep into the earth’s crust. Having emerged from the cracks of creation, the sinister adversary wiped out the original guardians and left behind a restless world.

Now fine cracks are burning in the aether. Through the lens of your phone – an artefact nobody recognises for what it is – a shadowy parallel realm becomes visible. Where familiar tram lines run, primeval monoliths rise into the sky. A terror that cannot quite be grasped is spreading: undead creatures and creeping bonebreakers roam the neighbourhoods. From unexplored depths, Gorevath pulls the strings. His followers raise rocky altar stones at crossroads, divert the released energy into hidden channels and drain the districts of their vitality.

A world in upheaval, full of uncertainty. And yet flora and fauna are not defenceless. Curiosity, concern and a protective spirit are awakening alike – and they have taken shape in the few who can see how it all connects.

You are one of the few who have awakened. Your purpose is clear: you protect your home from creeping decay and save civilisation from the looming downfall. You gather the scattered fragment shards to raise independent draconic offspring such as Indra. Together with one of the determined resistance guilds, you intercept the menacing manifestations, fight the hostile factions and forge new kinds of armour from the relics they leave behind. While Gorevath’s true motives remain shrouded in mysterious mist, you pull the borders of reality tight again. But what is it you are really up against?

The healer of the Guild of Dragon Healers

Chapter 2

The Guild of Dragon Healers

The dragons in the wild are under the influence of Gorevath’s shadowy followers. What they once were still shimmers through – but their will is no longer their own. So catch them and bring them to the traders so that they can be healed.

The traders do not buy dragons. They send them to the Guild of Dragon Healers. The guild’s grandmasters heal the dragons and in doing so gain energy and resources to protect the world. The order works selflessly and owns no fixed possessions whatsoever.

The guild shares the resources it gains by rewarding the traders for bringing the dragons to it. The traders in turn use this to pay the catchers. And so the circle closes: whoever brings a dragon out of the shadows helps it – and the world.

Chapter 3

Your Mission

The world stands on the brink. Gorevath reaches out from the depths for everything that breathes, and his hordes are already marching through the streets. Those who can see the cracks in the aether are needed – and you can.

Catch dragons or wipe them out. Every dragon that follows you is one Gorevath can no longer control. Decimate his hordes wherever you meet them.

Your equipment grows from what monsters and deposits leave behind. Only those who are well equipped can stand against the great adversaries.

Later you will join one of three guilds to pursue these goals together.

Start by catching a dragon. Buy your basic equipment at the trading post, then keep expanding and improving it. But remember: the truly strong armour devours vast amounts of resources. Go out and gather them – before the dark hosts claim them for themselves.

Chapter 4

The Three Guilds

Three guilds stand against Gorevath. They all want the same thing – to stop him and free the dragons from his grip – and argue only about the way. Whoever joins one bears its sign and may leave it again after a week.

The Conservators

“What harms us shall serve us.”

They would even control corrupted magic if it served the goal – Gorevath’s most morally flexible opponents and at the same time his most dangerous. They turn the enemy’s weapons against him and surprise with invention and technology.

The Earthkeepers

“Everything as it was.”

They want to preserve nature and the environment without seeing what magic has long since done to them. Motivated resistance fighters who win through heart and dedication.

The Shadow Hunters

“What we cannot change, we do not change.”

Efficient, methodical, driven by logic – with a strict moral code: they would never use the corrupted streams of magic. Very precise, and held back precisely by their morals.

Who stands against you?

Undead, wild animals, bandits, elemental spirits – and the colossi. You will find every dragon and every adversary in the bestiary.
